Public bug reported: Binary package hint: light-themes
I truly appreciate the hard work that has went into the new Lucid artwork. Recognizing that, the choice of aubergine as a color scheme leaves ***much*** to be desired. I am keenly aware that aesthetics are never a topic of complete agreement, but is the majority of public opinion positive or negative towards the color switch? My very informal poll (showing users the new scheme) would seem to indicate that it is not well received. Perhaps a larger question is if Ubuntu is a community-driven effort, was the choice of new theme brought before the community to solicit feedback? Or was this a "here's your new theme" closed door decision? I am very well aware it is unlikely that there is sufficient time to change the theme even if community opinion was sufficiently persuasive. So while not a traditional bug, I'm filing this as a concerned Ubuntu advocate that believes the new "out of the box" experience for Ubuntu does not put its best foot forward. ** Affects: light-themes (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Choice of aubergine color scheme needs further review https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/535531 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
