Hi, maybe I just had a similar problem, although without "missing library": With sun-java6-plugin instead of OpenJDK, firefox just freezes completely when loading the Facebook photo upload applet. The browser consumes 100% on one CPU core, and the process "java_vm" another 12 % on the second core. Killing java_vm crashes the browser.
