No, this happens with a fresh install attempt from a Live CD. Also, I
tried it on a different computer of the same model and specs and it also
hung the same way. As well, I tried installing Debian 5.04 and it
installed without any problems and that is what I'm now running on that
computer.

This bug likely isn't worth the time, the computer in question is old
and likely not in widespread use, but maybe the fix is simple and maybe
that info could prove useful in some other way.

Best,

Adrien

Is this after an upgrade from a previous release?

Does this happen when attempting to install?

Does this happen after installing from a particular CD? (LIVE /
Alternate / Mini)
