Plug-in crash cannot be easily addressed in this version, therefore it is suggested by upstream to temporary disable plugins. See bug 88759
I have worked on other issue: hang of strigi daemon due to large PDF/MS Office documents. Problem was due to improper use of wait() call and here is the attached debdiff. This should also address potential zombie processes as seen on debian (#407436). Fathi: are you interested to upload this into Debian? Then we can wait and sync instead of upload merged packages.
