I got this error twice when starting UBUNTU 8.10 :
"Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
- X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

it seems not working for french installation!

3) What you expected to happen
a) not to get this error
b) via OOo I tried to get the dot of the keypad as a comma for numbers as
it is in french and as it worked in Excel BUT this is a minor problem and so
far I am not ready to use windows again. I am satisfied of UBUNTU : speed and
security
4) What happened instead:
the error reported above
5) I tried "ubuntu-bug XKB and ubuntu-bug -p and ubuntu-bug -P and
ubuntu-bug xkbcomp" the results were package unknown. What should have
I typed to get the error report ?
