Did anyone found at least some work around for this problem or does
nobody care about this bug any more? I have the same problem on my HP
Compaq nx9420 laptop (after upgrading from 9.04 suspend hangs my machine
every time). I have no card in card reader and the behaviour is still
the same even with current kernel 2.6.31-20-generic. After manually
turning off the hanged machine and then switching back on sound level is
always muted (as "djuez" wrote). When I leave the machine running after
it hangs while suspending, it starts the fan at max performance after
approx. 10 min. = it looks like something is using CPU heavily - maybe
some deadlock/race cond.? Btw hibernation seems to work correctly on my
laptop (and when I had 9.04 both hibernation and suspend worked).
