I suspect that I was wrong about this, and the only error was the swap
partition being set as a swusp partition, whatever that is.  When is set
it back to swap, it gave me the message about writing partitions tables,
whatever.  I was using the alternate cd.  I'm going to invalidate this
report, because, Paolo, you should probably open your own bug report,
detailing what happened with you.
