I have followed Tristan's advice and have added the mozilla.daily ppa to my repositories and installed xul-runner 1.9.3. This works for me. If you experience the same problems, try to make sure that Eclipse is using xul-runner 1.9.3, and not your default version, by running Eclipse with the xul-runner path specified: "eclipse -vmargs -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=/usr/bin/xulrunner-1.9.3"
