It could be related to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/partman-base/+bug/506670 However in my case it has nothing to do with the size of the hard-disk's as the install will even fail with two hard-disk's of just 10gigs each. I was advised to report it as another bug. So basically it fails every install regardless of the hardware setup. Should be easy to reproduce.
