Ok after upgrading to the latest kernel I notice slight drop in load activity with udevd, but it is still too high - never below 0.6. Even after restarting it makes no difference. My details are:
# uname -msrv Linux 2.6.32-15-generic #22-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 2 02:23:29 UTC 2010 x86_64 # udevd --version 151 BTW its udisks-daemon that seems to run constantly and grab CPU resources (>11% almost constantly).
