Yes in fact the applet is no more. you can access the preferences under System
> Preferences > UbuntuOne. Also you can open the Ubuntu One folder and use the
Connect/Disconnect from there. Also the u1sdtool is very handy. You can read
about its options by entering in the Terminal the command:
man u1sdtool
There are plans to create a new Ubuntu One GUI.
