fwiw, the two commands to make it work again are: /etc/init.d/alsa-utils reset or killall pulseaudio
i'm not sure if the fact that both of these commands work to resolve the problem helps to isolate it. my very limited understanding of the ubuntu sound system says that alsa-utils is a subset of pulseaudio, so the conclusion would be that the problem is alsa and not pulse, since bouncing pulse also bounces alsa, but bouncing alsa, does not bounce pulse. -- alsa plugin for browsers regularly stops working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
