I'm having the same problem too with Karmic. Tryed even to backport some packages like stated here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8879101#post8879101 Nothing to do! The wireless goes down!!! On my laptop it goes up again automatically, but on my server (another pc) using a wifi-usb-dongle, it doesn't... even if I restart network, the device doesn't work anymore... I have to unplug it and plug again and then it reconnects. This BUG is very critical because I MUST use wireless... and so I can't use Ubuntu anymore!!! After so many year.. it's a pitty!!!
