Hi Brian, I tried these keystrokes on vt1, and they aren't bound to anything, either on the command line or in Vim. One thing to note is that this behavior works fine in the terminal (Gnome Terminal) itself; if you type a few words in to the terminal and use these keystrokes, you'll notice that the cursor moves one word per stroke. Maybe it's this behavior I was previously using?
Also, I've had the chance to double-check the results I'm getting on my home machine with another machine here at work, and the results are the same (work machine is an AMD64 running Feisty.)
