This just occurred for me today with the latest daily amd64 iso in a live QEMU environment. I wasn't doing anything which must have triggered g-ss and resulted in this. The guest system isn't using any proprietary drivers of course but the host is a 9.10 system with proprietary nvidia. Is this still expected? If so I can try to reproduce with an xtrace like you mentioned, otherwise I won't bother.
