Continuing with the problem: USB does not read. My laptop has 3 USB ports. Earlier (yesterday and before) this USB stick was normally read in any of the USB ports. Last night I tested a new a USB Hub which gave 4 additional ports to the PC. I tested the USB Hub with the USB memory stick (a Kingston 512 MB USB memory). Today the USB memory is not read unless I connect the USB Hub specifically to one of the laptop ports and I put the USB memory on the hub. This is a nuisance as the USB Hub is a tool for ocasions when I need to connect more than three USB devices (the Ubuntu USB drive, the mouse and two USB memory sticks), now I would be forced to use the hub even if there are other spare USB ports... I used the command sudo fadisk -l but the Kingston is not listed unless connected through the USB hub.
Is there anybody with enough knowledge to help me solve this problem? Thank you in advance for your help. CelsoM -- Does not read a USB that was read yesterday.
