**** You aren't using a standard install for that user. Can you reproduce this symptom with a new user? ****
really don't understand: this system have Jaunty64, Karmic32 and Lucid32 , sharing together the same /home and the same unique user (me). Everything work fine with Jaunty and Karmic with pulseaudio. Lucid is a clean install of A1 and daily updated, so it's a problem with pulseaudio on Lucid only, which need admin right to start (this right is not needed with the 2 others distro). I've removed/purged several time and reinstall pulseaudio after have removed ./pulse too. As said on first posts, sound preferences can't be viewed as Lucid dont identify hda alc882 chipset, starting pulseaudio into console resolve that problem but "common tab" is empty (ie hardware unknown, but can play sound) -- Pulseaudio is not running https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/519387 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
