Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
When my external monitor is connected from the start and I change its resolution to 1920x1080, the resolution change goes well. When my system is already running, I hotplug the HDMI monitor (e.g. I come home, get my laptop out of standby and plug the monitor in) and I select 1920x1080, the resolution changes but the video is corrupted (it "swizzles") , as if a wrong frequency is used. I'm using Kubuntu Lucid, all updates installed, on a Sony Vaio VNG- SR51MF/S laptop with a Benq G2410HD monitor.
