I've seen this too, it's somehow related to screen locking or screen saver.
My X server crashes immediately when i choose "Lock Session" in the KDE menu in
ubuntu.
It also crashes when I try to turn off the screensaver.

I've just recently (auto-) removed all packages depending on ubuntu-desktop and
xubuntu-*
I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.
I also ran out of diskspace during the week, but I --reinstalled the packages
that either had no md5 sums or failed the check.

I do not get anything in /var/crash at all except for thunderbird and
kicker which dies when the server dies.

I'm running this command now:
apt-show-versions | grep /feisty | awk -F/ '{ print $1 }' | while read x ; do
apt-get -y install "$x-dbg" ; done

Hopefully this will get me more information than hex values when
debugging it.
