Rebooting the PC was not sufficient (for whatever reason), it seems, to apply the above changes. Powering the computer down and then back up has resulted in the bug mentioned above being no longer apparent.
ALSA fix for HP Pavilion DV7: 1. Install linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic 2. Add "options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 model=hp-dv5 enable_msi=1" to the bottom of the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file. (always create a backup first) 3. Power down and then back up. (for some reason, mentioned above, rebooting is not sufficient) ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- Speakers Fail to Mute When Headphones Plugged In - HDA Intel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
