Ah right - if cryptsetup isn't installed, the "enter password" dialog
still appears, but entering the password doesn't actually do anything.
The problem here is probably with gvfs adding two entries for a single
device, though it is claiming that "cryptsetup exited with exit code
239"

This is a default Ubuntu/Gnome desktop. I haven't added anything other
than a few codecs and programming tools.
