Hi Tim:
When you first installed, can you try to remember what questions you
were asked and what answers you gave? Particularly to password
questions, which questions were asked and did you provide any non-
alphanumeric answers to them? Don't need to know the exact answer for
password questions, just an idea of what kind of password might have
broken things if this was the problem.
Also, can you please try a few things for me:
1) Try to finish the install from command line:
# sudo apt-get -f install
2) Try to reconfigure the package manually yourself from the command line if
the above command doesn't succeed:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure mythtv-common
3) Add a 'set -x' below the top line of
/var/lib/dpkg/info/mythtv-common.postinst and run that reconfigure command
again:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure mythtv-common
Please provide the terminal output for all of these commands.
