Hello guys,

I was having this problem from a fresh install of karmik in a laptop
along with XP. As rebooting the system and then turning it off from
windows was a workaround, I never payed much more attention. But today I
wiped the hard disk, did a fresh installation (no XP anymore), and
upgrade of all packages - all of this straigh in 9.10 - . And again the
same problem. it does restart properly, but it does not shut down. I´ve
activated the karmic-proposed repositories, updated the system, and same
issue. I tried also editing s40umount removing the -f option.

It´s the first time I´m using launchpad to report a problem, and it is
because I haven´t find any other solution. If I can provide you with any
information that may help you please let me know (my machine is an acer
extensa 3000)

thanks.
