Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ppp

Whenever I try to connect on Lucid with ppp/wvdial, I get the following
error message in /var/log/messages:

Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean: Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0.
The same card with the same configuration file will connect flawlessly
as before on Karmic, so I suspect that this is a lucid regression. Do
let me know if you need more information, this is critical for many
projects/orgs!!
