Public bug reported: Binary package hint: software-center
When I try to install any of the packages from the Ubuntu Software Center (Applications -> Ubuntu Software Center) the following happens: 1) The Install popup comes up with two buttons to choose from: Install and Website 2) If I click on Install a popup to authenticate comes up and shifts from left to right very fast (few milliseconds) and then disappears. Thus, I am never able to go any further with the installation! In some cases (after several attempts and rapidly clicking my left mouse button) I able to stabilize the authenticate popup. However, if I click on the authenticate button, nothing obvious happens --- the package never installs. --V.
