I'm pretty sure this is a BIOS related bug. This happened with dv5 model and it was solved by HP with a BIOS upgrade as you can see here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware/HP-Please-fix-the- dv5-BIOS/td-p/71800 Thanks.
