Public bug reported:

Under ubuntu 9.04, both wlan0 and eth0 connect solidly and stay in place until
the end
of the connected session. Under 9.10 they do not. The icon for lan wired
connection (black image)
appears, "eth0 disconnected" then, "eth0 connected." It is random.

Gnome-ppp when installed, with the dgc 1.11 driver installed, will not
recognize a Zoom
or US Robotics usb dialup modem.

eth0 and wlan0 failures are intermittent, gnome-ppp is solid.
