Can you please try the same thing in lucid? Use a livecd if you don't want to install development release. Alternatively you can try the latest mainline kernel: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.33-rc7/
Looks like a kernel issue, since the above commenters mention different modules as the source of the error.
