RE:
"Other related problems:
1. Sometimes (has not happened for the last few days/20-30 re-starts) Mobile
Broadband did not appear on NM left-click list at startup although it did
appear in the right-click list so you could edit it but not connect to it.
Unplugging and re-connecting the surf stick got around this problem.
2. When you unplugged the stick a message popped up with "GSM disconnected you
are off-line" even though you weren't online in the first place. This message
could also pop up when you plugged the stick in ?
3. Sometimes there would be two surf stick icons on the desktop, one of which
you could not unmount.
4. The volume/drive is labelled as a CD"

I can confirm that I have all 4 of these problems in Karmic.
