I am bitten by this bug too. There is no way you can use a LP across
Ubuntu distributions. If it works with hardy, it doesn't work with
karmic and vice versa. This is the error message I get:

bzr: ERROR: Unknown branch format: 'Bazaar Branch Format 7 (needs bzr
1.6)\n'

I've got the default hardy bzr package installed: bzr-1.3.1-1ubuntu0

Given that hardy is an LTS with still a while to go, I think this is
very important to get fixed, so I ramp up the importance.
