This is really weird:
Package python2.6 is trying to overwrite gtk-2.0/glib/_glib.so which is already 
provided by python-gobject-dbg

However the version of python2.6 which you're installing in
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23196025/python2.6_removal is not the
final jaunty one; I suspect you got hit by a temporary problem with
python2.6 which stuck on your system until you removed and reinstalled
python2.6.

I suspect this problem isn't reproducible nowadays; do you have any
recipe to reproduce it?
