Public bug reported:

I recently upgraded from 8.10, through 9.04 and then to 9.10. Now I have
no sound at all globally.

Sound worked fine in 8.10 with the exception that under some
circumstances if I left applications open too long (I think FireFox) it
would no longer work. But that was rare.

When I change the volume and have my external amp turned up high I can
hear the clicks at it increases the volume.

Recording audio seems to work!

I've run through the Debugging Sound pages including the one specific to
9.10 with no luck. Please see details of this below.

I have also attached the results of alsa-info.sh

Thanks in advanced for your assistance
~Scott
