@niroxx, @yankeeboy254, while I agree that a problem with the software-
center is certainly an important problem to solve, the importance
setting of "Medium" is appropriate according to the guidelines set at
the webpage: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance

"Medium" bugs are for those that have a significant impact upon non-
essential software and non-essential hardware (cameras, sound card,
etc.). "High" bugs are those that have rendered the computer useless
(repetitive crashes, freezes, etc.) and/or there is a risk of "loss of
user data".

The Software Center, while it is Canonical's centerpiece "App Store" in
a sense, is not essential software (as compared to the kernel and gnome,
perhaps). Also, the functionality of the Software Center is also
duplicated by the Synaptics GUI, and as an extreme backup, the 'apt-
get' command-line.

I understand your frustrations with Software Center -- I feel it, too.
However, having the bug set to "Medium" does not diminish the chances of
the problem getting fixed because the Software Center is a high priority
project for Canonical. I fully expect this issue to be solved for the
Lucid release.
