I have a similar problem. I have Windows 7 64bit on sda1 and Kubuntu on sda6. Grub1 is working fine, but grub2 lead to a problem with windows boot. Windows 7 reboots computer after animated logo, just before (I think) showing desktop.
It is probably related to bug #402154 which is marked as solved, but shouldn't be.
