I'll put another coin in the jukebox, for consistency's sake.

Same poweroff problem on a Desktop Shuttle SB81P with latest BIOS,
Dapper, 686 kernel and Dapper.

I think I have read that the problem is known but that we should not
expect any fix, just maybe in a kernel security update.

We've gone through quite a few kernel updates since the Dapper release,
and still no fix. LTS, LTS... Stable... I fear that the stability pact
is either not very well respected, or just used as an excuse. I know
about reports of graphics Intel chipset issues that are a hit or miss
depending on the kernel release revision...

Could we at least have a clear explanation of the problem? This may help
those of us not scare of building a kernel package ourselves.

Thanks,

Nico
