Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I have a Cricket A600 USB 3G modem that works great with the NetworkManager except for one thing. Every time that I want to connect to the modem, I have to run usb_modeswitch. This has to be done every time that I connect the device, go standby/hibernate, or shutdown. It would be nice if the NetworkManager would include some sort of a tool that would recognize this device and automatically switch the mode. Thanks! -Montel Edwards ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory Date: Wed Jan 20 18:21:40 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) IpRoute: 172.30.162.9 dev ppp0 proto kernel scope link src 10.96.84.176 192.168.122.0/24 dev virbr0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.122.1 169.254.0.0/16 dev ppp0 scope link metric 1000 default via 172.30.162.9 dev ppp0 proto static Package: network-manager 0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-17.54-generic-pae RfKill: 0: eeepc-wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no SourcePackage: network-manager Uname: Linux 2.6.31-17-generic-pae i686 ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- NetworkManager should support usb modems that require usb_modeswitch on default. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
