Edit /etc/grub.d/00_header and locate the line which adds "set gfxmode={GRUB_GFXMODE}" and add the line "set gfxpayload=keep" after it. Line 103 without the quotes. 3. sudo update-grub 4. Comment out "blacklist vesafb" in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer.conf. Line 27 and also add "blacklist vga16fb" 5.
