Was this problem ever fixed in Dapper or has canonical abandoned it's so called "Long Term Service" release already? I have a hard drive with dapper installed which has been extracted from a machine that has died.
We're unable to get a desktop board which doesn't use the jmicron controller, so I'm not able to use anything else. I have read this entire thread and I'm no more enlightened than when I started about whether this problem has been fixed for Dapper, or how to apply any such fix. Has this problem been fixed in dapper? Can someone explain in terms that a normal human being can understand how to install these fixes without having to recompile a new kernel or install a new operating system? -- JMicron PATA/SATA Controller does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/57502 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
