Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eclipse
The launcher for eclipse searches for the java machines available. Sun's java, which is way faster than java-gcj is not being used, which causes some problems while using the IDE, for example, the cdt auto-complete takes about 10seconds on a decent machine with gcj and less than 2seconds with sun's java. I haven't found any option in the program to select the vm, so I tried to sudo update-alternatives --config java to select java1.6 from sun. Only then I've noticed that only the launcher selects which vm to use. Shouldn't the user be able to select the vm?? ** Affects: eclipse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Eclipse do not use the default java machine https://launchpad.net/bugs/89678 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
