I managed to get the kubuntu herd 5 live cd to work on my Asus p4p800 deluxe. Here is the solution that I entered in the wiki at this location: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Asus_P4P800
You need to use F6 at the boot screen to add these command line options: noapic nolapic irqpoll All three of them. Then it works. I will add output of lspci -vv as separate file.
