Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Pulseaudio is making my machine to suffer with low performance on
gaming.

When I run Fofix the video jerks every time pulse loads buffer. If I
increase the buffer size, the jerking becomes more sparse. If I decrease
the buffer size, the jerking becomes more frequent.

SDL games have the same issue (when using pulseaudio).

The new snes9x-gtk (1.52) with Pulseaudio output has this problem too.

If I turn-off pulseaudio and use ALSA output everything works pretty
well.

My machine is a Phenom II X4 processor with 2gb DDR3 1333 and a ECS
a785gm-m mobo. My videocard is a 8600gt card. Fofix game runs pretty
smooth on Windows.
