@Xtigyro: perhaps the windows disk signature has been changed, you could try the following steps:
1, Use windows installation disk to fix mbr, this would allow you to boot into windows 2, add grub4dos to boot.ini, use it to boot into ubuntu. 3, In ubuntu, use grub-install with --safe option to install to mbr.
