** Description changed: + EDIT [RESOLVED]: + Ok, problem disappeared. + this issue was related to a bad/broken firewire PCI Card from Radius. + On several computers, this card made Ubuntu have a KernelOops; + just removing that f***ing card made the KernelOops disappear on each computer. + + Mobo still needs voltage mod to enable my G-Skill DDR3 ram, but this has + no link to Ubuntu and KernelOops.... + + thanks for reading + + zizitist + + + + ------------------------------------------------------------ + Just got the Ubuntu Karmic's "report a bug" in my gnome notification bar, and followed instructions!! Actually, I have a mobo MSI X48C Platinum, set with a core2quad Q9650, and 2x 2G DDR3 from G-skill. This config has made me problems in the past: even after last bios update, Mobo never correctly understood my CPU and Ram. My only solution is still to set voltage values in the bios higher than the default mobo settings, specially for Ram. Ubuntu 8.10, 9.04 and 9.10 behave quite well on the computer (and WinXP SP3 works like a charm also on this config), but for example, none of these Ubuntu were able to halt the system properly (I have to switch off manually) - thanks for reading zizitist + + + ------------------------------------------------------------ ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: Your system might become unstable now and might need to be restarted.
