Irihapeti, there is a report at bug 496187 that libdrm 1:2.4.11-2+karmic3 and xserver-xorg-video-intel 4:2.8.0.901+karmic (currently in the PPA) with kernel 2.6.31-17-generic does not freeze. How is this for you?
