Public bug reported:

I have Ubuntu 9.10 X86_64, my keyboard (Cherry CyberPro G-224) has some
dedicated keys to start programs:
- Media player (audacious)
- E-Mail Client (evolution)
- Web Browser (firefox)
- Calculator (gcalctool)

plus others for
- Volume +
- Volume -
- Volume mute
- Power off

In the last 15 days (I can't say exactly when) the keys have stopped to work.
All keys except the mediakey started to auto-repeat after first press.
Auto-repeat stops only, when the 'media' key is pressed.

When key repeats are disabled in the user prefs, then any input from one of
the media-keys on the keyboard causes a global lockup. You can't enter anything
anymore.

Pressing the 'media' key causes to key to be recognized and executed (e.g. mute
toggle) once.
Now keyboard input is possible again.

     Importance: Undecided
