Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client
This is somthing of a wishlist, but it's also quite basic & irritating. I've noticed 2 rather anoying things with the Ubuntu One client software... 1) There is no way to see if there is any sync/network activity.. and no progress indicator. There are situations where there is a vast amount of network activity to check the sync state, and there is nothing to indicate that this is happening, and the status is left as "Your files are up to date"... (see point 2)... 2) The status is left as "Your files are up to date", if the status is not known... when you first start the client for example, this is the status... until checks are complete, and any modified files start to sync. there is also no way to tell when the sync was last successfully completed... I've had a problem logged in other bugs, where the status says that it is syncing forever, but no data is transferred... while attempting to resolve this, I have removed all the software and cache, and re- installed the client. Since I did this, it has been furiously communicating with the server, but there is no indication that any activity is happening from the client... and it states that the files are up to date, even tho I know they are not.
