Lari, Thanks for the help...I did (before I saw your reply) do the 9.10 upgrade last night, no change in the sound situation. I'll take a look at some of the other bug reports, and see if anything there can help. If not, I guess I'll have to just live with it for now until I have the time to backup, reformat and start again from scratch. <sigh>.
