Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dkms
I apologise in advance if this is a duplicate bug filing. I wanted to log this one and to report that this is the second time I have installed 9.10/AMD64 on this Acer 7520 laptop, the first being approximately 2 weeks after initial release of the full distro. Both installations have been completely 'clean' - ie from bare disc. The first installation went perfectly and had no problems, this time I saw the bug that is the subject of this report. The error was generated during the first "Update Manager" run after the initial reboot. I can only suspect that a package has been updated since my first build and that this updated package induced the error. I have not yet added any non-default packages, so this is an issue with a core build package. Very happy to provide assistance with any further tests or diagnostics that may be required - you have my email address; feel free to drop me a line.
