I thought I would let you all know that I also have this bug with my pavilion dv7-3067cl. I will be happy to try anything suggested and give feedback. I've been using linux for several years, so I am familiar with installing, compiling, etc., but I don't know very much about alsa or the inner workings of the sound system. Hope I can help.
