I use xine to play videos. Since Karmic 9.10 changing the playback
position with the cursor keys is buggy. After a few jumps the player
soon ends in a state where it mutes sound every 2 seconds for about 1 or
2 frames. This state only ends when stopping and restarting playback. It
does not end by just waiting, further jumps or pausing playback, nor by
unplugging or replugging the power cord (like in bug #115688).
To reproduce I play common videos with AVI container, XVID MPEG-4 video
(25 frames/sec) and AC-3 sound (48000 Hz) read from internal harddisk. I
use xine-ui 0.99.5+cvs20070914-2.1 and libxine1 1.1.16.3-0ubuntu4.
When starting "xine --verbose" it seems it takes much more jumps to reach the
buggy state. Then it prints the following until playback is stopped (one line
and one sound skip every 2 seconds):
